Saving Nature Through Art

One of my greatest muses as an artist are the natural forests of BC, growing for the past hundreds of years. Home to tremendously complex and diverse ecosystems, they tell thousands of stories and breed a warm, magical atmosphere.Unfortunately, BC has been logging down these ancient forests at a rapid pace. Not only is this bad for the environment, but it also greatly affects our daily lives, as old growths are natural protectors against floods, landslides, toxins, and much more.Thus, I have embarked on the journey to save my greatest muse. In this series I depict old growths and their futures accompanied by poetry on 100% cotton (tree-friendly) paper, telling the stories from nature's perspective. I want to be the voice for the trees that have guarded us for generations.I aim to sell prints of the pieces and donate the money towards Sierra Club BC's Old Growth Protection Campaign. ♡It may seem like a small step, but if we all work together, we can use art, our voices, and whatever we have in our power to save old growths before it's too late.

Art is a portal to memories, other worlds, and moments in time that often slip away unnoticed. Through "Portals" I aim to offer you a momentary escape, a glimmer of beauty, and a feeling of calm as you go about your day.Each piece is hand-painted with watercolour, sealed with waterproof wax, and carefully placed inside hand-sculpted frames made from detailed metal beads and air dry clay. Each has a magnet at the back for sticking to metal surfaces, but they also look beautiful when placed on mini stands.
